this song's cute and definitely guaranteed to get every 14 year old girl in america to buy this cd......i'm not saying that RIOT is a bad album, because its not, in itself its fairly decent. but compared to ALL WE KNOW IS FALLING, it sounds really meaningless and immature. yeah its true, paramore did wind up getting a bigger fan base with RIOT than with A.W.K.I.F, but popularity doesn't necessarily make up for quality. anyways! hasn't it occurred to anyone else that haylie's being kind of a hypocrite with this song? cuz if you read the lyrics carefully, she sounds like just as much of a whore as the other girl, but since the song's being sung from haylie's point of view, it comes off making her look like she's so much better than the other girl, when she's really not. well those were my thoughts on the song, enjoy |

well isn't this quite the disappointment, i absolutely hate this song. the title's too misleading. when i heard an impressive word like 'exodus' i expected the song to be of equal quality, but no. a more appropriate title would've 'runaway' the lyrics and composition are mediocre on their own (at best), but thrown together, they just make one really bad song. the wording is dull and to the point, which shows lack of creativity, and the music just doesn't flow with the message that is trying to be conveyed at first i thought it was cuz it was such an early song, but alot of their early material is actually quite good and would probably sell well if ever commercially released on an ep or something. unfortunately that is not the case with this song, this is just bad. however i will agree that this song does have a few good lines here and there, good enough to even make it onto their later work (lithium). but either way i just personally think this song is way overrated. |

Anette has a nice voice and all, but honestly she should've stuck with Siegfried or Dreams of Sanity. I would rather hear Tarja sing this. (But no, she's singing holiday songs in Finnish now). Nightwish made an awful mistake when they kicked her out for being too much of a diva, which I personally think she had every right to do. This new Nightwish is too....new. Don't get me wrong though, its not bad, it actually sounds quite good, but I'm definitely gonna miss the old Nightwish. As for the song; if this is how the rest of the album is going to sound then I definitely can't wait for the realease this September. |

i applaud you hedelex. your interpretation is obviously really deep, and gave me something to think about.... however, i always perceived this song with an almost dysthimic outlook on christianity (unlike most christian songs which only talk about how great jesus was for dying for our sins and then stop at that). in a simplicity, this song is saying that; jesus was screwed from the very start. i don't mean that in any disrespect at all (i'm partially catholic). but he was basically damned to die for us and there was no changing that. |

well i literally have a ton of ideas of what this song is talking about, they all don't necessarily tie in with eachother, but maybe they'll help decipher the real meaning, if there's any that is........ -its janie not katie, there's a 'k' sound in there..... -for whoever suggested that bert cheated with a guy, did you ever consider that maybe instead of cheating on Kate with a guy, maybe he cheated on her with this Janie person? -its OCEAN not SIN (if you don't beleive me then explain to me why he pronounces 'sin' with an 'sh' sound) -ocean water tastes like cum, this doesn't necessarily mean that its gay sex, it could just be him saying what the girl (janie) must be thinking -'blue' might actually mean 'blew' past tense for blow, blow as in blow job, which would tie in perfectly with the whole ocean thing -blue could also be short for 'blue balls' -MMM could suggest either nerves or a threesome between three guys, (i doubt it though) -soundeffects/overdramatics could refer to the faking of an orgasm -'blue' could mean depression (as opposed to meth and pregnancy tests) -'drugs' could mean zoloft or prozac or some other depression treating medication -seeing as how this is obviously a frustrated song, maybe he's frustrated that no one acknowledges his depression (when i mention blue all you thought was color) or his need for medication (when i mention drugs all you thought was sober) -'switching places' could mean sex partners (assuming that he's really bi) or sex positions -SOUNDEFFECTS are usually used in movies, actors are usually OVERDRAMATIC, this song was in SAW II, so maybe they just wrote this song with no specific meaning, other than so it could be a part of the movie PS.....who's Janie? 7 pages of comments, and still no answer as to who she is? a little sad, but just a little though.... |
