Well this is what it means to me, though its probably not what it was actually written about: Its about someone who can't leave their house/be active safely for some reason. Perhaps the person is old with heart complications, or perhaps they have some kind of disease. "One that I can't quite escape so pretend its the place that I love" refers to what he tells himself to try and feel beter, and/or how he acts to those that know him. Then its about how he/she watches the outside world, and dreams/wishes of being out there. "My heart beats way to fast to let regret sit in my lap" Finally, the person decides to go out there, despite the great risk he knows it is. He's too happy to be out of the trap he was in to regret the fact he's probably going to die. And that's what the chorus refers to: the person's not going to let life keep passing them by, even if it means dying. |
