its about wherever you are war is all the same and not everyone beleives in what they are fighting for, steve harris said in the AMOLAD tour programme "I have always had great respect for the military, they have to face these awful situtions, even if they are trained it must be pretty horrible. some of the reasons people go to war are pretty good but others are terrible, but when your a soldier and you told to go, you go whether you like it or not" and it could be about conscription i think this song is a great metaphor for conscription, a lot of people think that ALL german soldiers and civillians loved hitler, 1= hitler seemed to a great leader at first because he got the country out of poverty after WW1, even Britain and U.S.A suppoted him. 2= when you are under the control of ruthless dictators that kill all who oppose, like you ganna say "no" to them, it was mostly fear not love. 3= war films always put Britain and the U.S.A as heroes in WW2 but they where no better than who they fought (thats the case in every war), watch the first half hour of "saving private ryan" and watch what the american soldiers do once they are inland, the film was based on eye-witness accounts. when i ask people "why do think all germans are evil in WW2" and i hear most things start out like "i watched this film", films are just fiction.
