| Its about religion being a disease. " you live, you live on your knees (praying) spread like a disease yeah" all religions have been good for is genocides, suicides, death and destruction. HE should know about Genocides since the Turks have perpetrated genocide on Armenians and deny it. ("Turkish lies") | |

| You guys are looking at this all wrong. Even though he is ethnically Armenian Daron's parents immigrated to L.A. from Iraq. He has Family there and has spent summers there as a little boy. Babylon is the ancient name for Iraq. He has also written about his childhood visiting family in Iraq in the SOAD song Soldier Side. | |
| The Black Crowes – She Talks To Angels Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Coming from a former addict this song is DEFINITELY about heroin. i can break it down line by line She never mentions the word addiction In certain Company -addicts always have 2 sets of friends; The people that do dope with and The people they knew before they got into "the life" that they would do almost anything to keep them from finding out She tells you she's an orphan After you meet her family - Though people start doing heroin for different reasons many of them have family issues which makes them feel ostracized from there parents and siblings making them feel "all alone" She paints her eyes as black as night now - Female addicts many times wear heavy eye make-up to cover up the "sunken eyes" look that heroin users get while using She pulls those shades down tight She gives a smile when the pain comes The pain gonna' make everything alright -Heroin use is very secretive and Ritualistic to the users. She pulls the shades down to hide the setup process (cooking it and filtering through a piece of cotton into the syringe). And the pain comes from the injection and coming from a former user, you look forward to that sting of the needle and the slight burn of the warm golden brown liquid coursing through your veins. Makes you know in a few seconds all you will feel is bliss. Says she talks to angels They call her out by her name Oh yeah, she talks to angels Says they call her out by her name -this Chorus has a double meaning yet both meaning tie in to one another. On one hand heroine users are fully aware how close they are to death every time they shoot up when you do a lot you pass and when you wake up you realize you may have just as easily not have. also the chorus may tie in to the next line (lock of hair from a little boy) she may have had a personal tradgedy. a son or little brother or childhood friend that died the she feels in communion with while she's high and the cross from someone she has not met yet may refer to an heirloom from a deceased grand-parent or parent that she will meet in heaven being she's always so close to death. She keeps a lock of hair in her pocket She wears a cross around her neck Yes the hair is from a little boy And the cross from someone she has not met Not yet - as i explained above these lines may try and paint of picture of the tragedy that drove this woman to her addiction. From the impression i get she lost a child at a young age and a parent before her birth. perhaps her mom died in childbirth or father died while her mom was pregnant. In any case these deaths or losses are the reasons for her sadness and her attraction to a drug that leaves on the verge of death every time you do it. She don't know no lovers None that I've ever seen And to her that means nothing But to me it means, means everything _ To an addict these lines are obvious but to somone that doeasnt know much about the addiction it may go unnoticed. Heroin addicts have no sex drive. Sex has no meaning to them because it has been replaced by the ecstasy of the "rush". Female addicts lose interest in sex and male addicts become impotent and can't ejaculate while under the influence which is usually all of the time being that if your not high you're sick going through withdrawals. there is no doubt in my mind what this song is about and anyone that has ever succumb to the demon would agree. I've been sober for years now yet this song still twists my stomach up and gives me a lump in my throat every time i hear it because it hits so close to home |

| Actually Daron talked about this son in a roling stone issue he said its about when he was visiting family in Iraq when he was 14 and his uncle was being drafted into the iraqi army and the impression of everyone crying and the sadness of the moment fearing he would never come home stuck with him and this is why he wrote this song | |

| this song is definitely about being driven crazy by a girl he thought was the one but ended up being a heartless cold ho. "Poisinging a Drink, Bleeding in the sink" are angry random thoughts of murder and suicide respectively as ways to get bac at her | |

| i personaly think he's talking about how advertising causes people to want things they see and causes people to feel bad about all the things they can't afford. he's using the pizza comercials as a refference point on how easy it is for them to get under our skin | |
