I just heard this on the background of some direcTV mix channel and it's such a real song. it's funny to me how a song like this never gets played on regular radio even once. I guess because it doesnt fit the mold or have a hook in it or a big name/label behind the song it can't be on the radio.. sad!

In a way this is my favorite song of all-time. The funny thing is.. I'm not even really a matchbox 20 fan and i wouldn't even say this is one of there more popular songs. The whole thing about being "bent" is what sets this song apart. His problem is so simple ("It shouldn't be so complicated") but at the same time thinks he may never get back. The whole tone of this song is positive though. To me, the feeling of this song suggests that he'd be ok living like this until "his smile gets old and faded". Maybe it's a song that was just fit for me at the time (early 2000s), but it works on a deep level for me when I hear it.

The electronic sound in this song seems to have meaning as well. The sound that ends out the song is like a ticking bomb and then it stops at the peak of a build up. The end sound represents growing identity confusion through life. When the sound stops, so does the life. It's a very hectic finish and it urges you to be in touch with your identity before you run out of time on this Earth.

I discovered this song playing Fifa '07. It's about a guy who's feeling down and it's hurting a relationship he's in. He is desperate to keep her because "she's the best," but confident that it will work out if she just hangs in there. He feels that he's "the best" for her. The sound of the song is so cool because it reflects his belief in this relationship. As for Fifa '07, I think the "we live in two worlds apart" and "I don't want to wake 'till it's over" lines define the essence of the world cup.
