| Honestly, this is the reason I like Ascendancy more than the Crusade. It has nothing to do with the vocals or the guitars. It has to do with leaving songs up to the person who listens to them to interpret them, songs on The Crusade are less personal and covered in extreme overtones of political stuff and society's downfall, and yeah, sure, I still love that stuff. But I consider music to be more personal than it is rebellious. | |

| This album is their best. Matt Heafy is the best songwriter in the band, and I believe he wrote all of these with arrangements by Travis, musically they have matured, sure, with clean vocals and everything, but it does NOT mean they are trying to be like Metallica, being the huge Metallica buff I am, I know the difference between sounding like a young Hetfield and sounding like yourself. Trivium is probably my favorite band nowadays. The melodies in the writing are one of a kind, this album runs together like a long song. And it's amazing. | |
