hmm i know this may sound rather irritating but this song (altho it may not be ABOUT the movie Pretty In Pink) this song actually makes me think of Pretty in Pink because (referring to movie): "i was terrified and would you mind if i sat next to you and watched you smile" the most popular guy was a bit scared of asking out the nerd (molly ringwald's character) because he knew that his friends would think he was crazy for going out with her - but he took that chance anyway "so many kids but i only see you and i dont think you notice me" the popular guy is "surrounded" by other girls (in particular, his group of friends) but he seems to only want molly's character but he doesnt really think he's in with a chance becoz he thinks that she doesnt really think of him in THAT way "i'm not the way you think i am" in Pretty in pink the popular guy is trying to convince molly's character that he's not the way he may appear to be "well i've seen your boyfriend and i dont think he treats you right, but thats none of my business is it?" this sort of reminds me of when molly's friend, duckie - who has a huge crush on her - finds out that molly's going out with the popular guy and they end up getting into an argument because duckie thinks that the popular guy wont treat her well and is just using her im not saying that this is what the song is about coz it probably isnt but when i hear this song it just reminds me of Pretty in Pink so pls dont yell at me if u disagree |

hmm nope - i think ur the only one lol i just think they were trying to do something different to TTTYG - like maybe sound more 'mature'! sure maybe FUTCT isnt as good as TTTYG but its only coz its sounds different to FUTCT and to patrickissecks im listening to Track 3 aka 'London Beckoned Songs...' and ur right! the 'do do do, etc...' part sound hell similar but u wouldnt really know it unless someone pointed it out Good Job!! |

i rekon this song is about the fans in some ways to be completely honest... "Crowds are won and lost and won again" meaning that they were popular when they first came out and then lost some of their fans because of some of the contraversial (sp?) things about FOB - in particular Pete - but then gained them again somehow and "Our hearts beat for the diehards" most likely meaning that theyre most appreciative of their dedicated fans who have stuck by their side despite the contraversy (sp?) behind the band i could be way off with my theory tho lol |
