Such an amazing song, off an amazing CD. When I hear it, it always reminds me of summer, not only because of the beach references, but, just because we'd blast it on long drives, with the windows down, such an awesome time. I always think of my gf, well, now ex when I hear this song (any Incubus song does it, but this one more than others). It's really a feel-good thing to listen to. When I'm down, I'll blast it, when I'm good, I'll blast it. |

It's kind of how when you're in a relationship you know exactly what lines not to cross, that's how I take that line. I remember my ex and I had certain things we swore to never say to each other, boundaries to never step over. IF we did, it'd make things worse, something neither of us wanted, When BB says "we all have someone that digs at us, at least we dig each other", that is so true. It's basically how when you're in a relationship, who pisses you off the most? The person you're in the relationship with! But, deep down, you love the way they annoy you, and you'd only put up with it from them. Such an amazing song. |

That part to me means that he's got a lot on his mind, his gf won't listen, so he's saying it to himself, and the car is the only other thing there to listen. "Expect me to apologize for things you've done wrong." That part really hits home. I hated apologizing for things when others did the thing I'm apologizing for. It's talking about man-ning up, and owning your faults. Apologize when you need to, and don't pawn your mistakes off on others. People blame their own mistakes on the ones who are closest to them too much. |

I think it's about how things in life seem to "drive" and control you life. The fears of school, relationships, and other stuff somehow drives your life. I used to have a hard time sleeping in my room when it was really dark at night. I heard this sone when it came out in 2001/2002, and it showed me that it's my life, and I need to control it, not anyone/anything else. |

Definitely my favorite Incubus song. It's about how amazing that one other person is. The better half of you, and how no matter what, when you think of that person, or see them, talk to them, you can't explain why you're so happy. It's just something that needs no explanation, you're content with them, no matter their flaws, or anything. The whole part about being in outer space is awesome. I think it means that you want to be somewhere with that person where no one can judge you, no parents, no friends, and you can be yourselves. I don't think "inside of you" means sex. I think it means how amazing that person is inside, stellar, which means something so big and amazing that it can't be explained. Nothing on earth can show it. |

I think a lot of people said it already, but I'll add my opinion. The song is saying that they have their problems, like everyone does. However, some problems go deeper than what the other can fix. So it's either let's call it, meaning end it, or call it meaning here are your problems. Awesome song though, definitely fits in with 'Diamonds and Coal'. |

I literally did say one time "count on the me from yesterday". | Awesome song, one of my favorite of all time. In regards to the fibonnaci sequence, it is truly brilliant. Maynard's voice also does'nt come into the song until 1:37. This equates to 1.617 minutes, relating to phi, the golden ratio which is used to describe spirals. The lyrics: "Black then white are all I see in my infancy. Red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me - lets me see" probably refer to the alchemical stages lead must go through to become gold. Many other lyrics refer to an infinite universe. | |
