besides....duh, the romans hated jesus. why would they want people to remember him? people are terrible. we're so fuhcking biased that you can't trust anything really. not even "history". like churchill said "i know what history will say about me because i intend to write it" the romans, for all we know, could have made up records or omitted accounts they thought made them look bad. they didn't have a real reason for crucifying jesus, o maybe they thought they'd look stupid. i don't know. open your mind. |

it is common for historical figures, such as alexander the great, to appear in historical documents very many years after their life/death...250 years is the average, so 50 yrs is actually a short time and one could assume, more accurate. stop being so biased just cause it's religiously-related. be objective, ppl. nothing ever gets done if you look through the lense in one way only. Maybe people don't write these things down because they assume that no one will forget huge moments in history. i dunno besides, weren't we talking about the mind-numbing beautiful chaos that is The Mars Volta? |

| i agree with sois. he sounds confused and lost. he had gotten used to the other place, his mind/psyche/conscience, and assumes naively that he will be returned to that place if he jumps off the overpass. instead he finds himself in a different place altogether, not nearly as extraordinary as when in his coma. | |

"Transient - someone that travels alot, fancy word for hobo jet lag - not used to the time change when you move somewhere else ecto - out shell mimed - copied bison - is also bufflo which is an animal that got wiped out by trains. " thats amazing. i love how its a huge idea wrapped up in 5 words. i think what it means is that this whole experience- his drug use, attempted suicide, coma, and eventual death- is like a train, kind of bigger, more powefull than him. something elusive and powerful, and tempting. he, the lost, wandering soul was "hit" by this "train". if that makes any sense at all. it kind of injects this feeling into this song. Whenever i listen to this song, before i even knew what it was about, it made me feel like Julio would have. I could feel the meaning of the song even before my conscious self realized it. and that is why i love them. :) |
