Pedro the Lion – Big Trucks Lyrics 18 years ago
HA. This song is ridiculously cute.

I love how the kid almost grows up as the father talks to him. "Why did you let that man" is quite a juvenile remark, and saying "Dad, dad!" isn't something the driver of a Trans Am would say. Yet as the father goes on about his son, he mentions that he's driving cars and etc. I just find it cute, and pretty clever.

I agree with typhany, on the father/son ideology, and I agree with renegade about the meaning.

What the priest says sums up David's "moral of the story!" if you will. And I agree with mikekuehn's post--specifically the first two lines. This is my favorite song of Pedro's next to Diamond Ring and A Simple Plan. Repeating on my playlist as we speak. x)

99% of this whole CD is based on fictional characters, and real situations. The characters might as well be real, because shit like this happens all the time. Go Pedro!

I agree with your view on genie, finite. But, I disagree with your thoughts on the lyrics. The message might have been repeated a lot of times, but I don't think that particular message has been delivered in such a way.

I know people that don't listen to Pedro, just because he's a believer. I think it's his belief that makes his lyrics so heartfelt and real. Or it contributes to the outcome, at least.

I like killcorazons comment, but it looks like they need to do their homework before they say anything. GNP stands for Gross National Product. It's the former measure of the United States economy; the total market value of goods and services produced by all citizens and capital during a given period. (usually one year) It's not even a company. xD

The meaning of this song has been stated numerous times already: It's never too late to become religious. The most elaborate analyzation of this song (so far) is by EvaXephon, on the second page of these comments.

The whole "Her name was Magill, and she called herself Lil, but everyone knew her as Nancy" part may just be informing the listener of her full name in a humurous way. "Lil' Nancy Magill"

Great song. When I first got it off the White Album, I put it on repeat for the whole day, and it's in my "Favorites Playlist" 4 times. x)
