| This song is from the perspective of a gay guy who broke up with his boyfriend. It's not that hard to understand fall out boy lyrics, it's just easy to get caught up in finding secret meanings (which, don't get me wrong, there always are). But I do think it's biased to always assume a song is about a heterosexual breakup. "Trade baby blues for wide-eyed browns": the old partner had blue eyes, the new one has brown. "I sleep in your old shirts" (literally) "and walk through this house in your shoes": he tries to look at the old relationship as his old partner saw it. "It's a strange way of saying that I know I'm supposed to love you": he knows he's in love with his old partner because they're so great together, but they have so damn many problems they decided to call it quits. I think John Mayer's "Comfortable" parallels with this song. | |

"But we all got wood and nails Tongue tied to a hating factory" stellar song... truly shows how much they've grown. this song means a lot to me because it's how i feel regarding religion. if i had a talk with god, these are the words i'd say (only when i said them, they probably wouldn't come out as dignified or poetically). |

| Midnight Cowboy clearly knows what's up, as it's ridiculous to settle with the "it's about a girl" excuse when you simply can't figure it out. as so blatantly described in the album title, the devil and god are raging inside (of vin). is so unlikely that the standards people hold him up just aren't who he wants to be? he wants to lose it, lose himself. yet he can't because of whatever personal or professional obligations/burdens he carries. | |
