| this song is so amazing live. i saw it in boston and danny plays a 5 minute drum solo before the actual studio part begins. I actually thought the other day, "wouldn't it be nice if they released another 'Salival' kind of live tracks cd, they put this on it?"It puts sooo much energy into the crowd AMAZING!! | |

um, i think most everyone's intrerpretations are correct and extremely intelligent, but how do you know about Maynard being abused as a child and how do you know that he sometimes thinks about abusing his son-or was that just a theory? It was Madson4562 that piqued my intrest...anyone? |

jeez after reading all the posts i kinda realized that not many people here a are actually from America. Maybe i just have a morbid curiosity but how did some of you react to 9/11, i mean i have an uncle who worked in the World Trade Center. Our family was very panicked until we heard he was alright. But then when the channels like CNN and MSNBC began to show the collapse and people jumping to their deaths instead of burning it seemed like "who gives a damn anymore" none of that day could be censored apart from just not showing any of the turmoil, anger, panic, or senseless destruction of thousands of families. I came home from school that day nearly accepting the fact that some 50,000 people could be killed in one act of disregard for human life....uh after my therapy session i just wanna say that if you connect this with my earlier post it creates a pretty good description of what i think this song is about, yeah |

I think the whole song is a metaphor for how the world has become more and more desensitized to reality Like in the 50's all that was necessary was the finger. Then as the world got used to the finger's stimulation, we needed the knuckle and so on, obviously the band didnt know about 9/11, but you gotta wonder if that was like past the shoulder or something, and now it seems like some people have gotten used to the fear of another attack that everyone had in the few months after september...they've gotten used to the fear and im really scared to say it but we might need a new depth to stimulate us like this part of the song mostly:Blend and balance Pain and comfort Deep within you 'til you will not want me any other way It's not enough I need more Nothing seems to satisfy I don't want it I just need it To breathe, to feel, to know I'm alive Knuckle deep inside the borderline This may hurt a little but it's something you'll get used to Relax, slip away does anyone know what the new live version says? it might apply a little sense to my madness |

| I heard that "Chupa minha pica pichu, chupa minha pica pinto" is a Portuguese slang that is slightly offensive and wont work in a translation website, so if anyone can speak Portuguese please enlighten us | |

i hope this helps Kade, el scorcho9, and NickDogg, and anyone else...i think the "Do unto others, what has been done to you" could be a reference to the old saying "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", which i think might be in the bible...or it could just be a wisdom quote. Some of you guys have some really insightful comments on this song that im sure many people never thought of, thanx |

i heard that a "Useful Idiot" was the name for the peasants in the old soviet union who would follow the government's every word and just stand in their breadlines beliving their government was doing a great job. These useful idiots were still necessary for the economy but only to that extent, like little worker bees. |

jeez,toolband26 kinda hits it on the nose, i sorta thought this song was about a relationship and domestic abuse, the pushing and shoving, "no love in fear"-the feeling of loving someone even though they're putting an immense amount of fear on you, the eventual "tear your fucking throat away, it will end no other way" could be him fighting back...but toolband26 proves his/her view very well I only wish i could've seen them in concet playing this song, im gonna see them for the first time on friday in boston, nice! |
