| Animal Collective – Bleed Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I'm not a big fan of AC's lyrics some of the time. They're not the best lyricists, but they manage to get a point across. Although I don't really, nay, CAN'T really, find a meaning to this song, it's just gorgeous and one of my faves on the EP. The abstract meter and...ugh, what's the word I'm looking for...brevity? IDK, Hemingway did it alot, where there are just phrases and not complex and convoluted thoughts. Anyway, I digress, great song, amazing band..! | |

| Regina Spektor – Back of a Truck Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I kind of see the first two verses as separate stories that merge together in some weird way at the end of the song...I don't know...it's an excellent song though. Where's the "This is New York!" part though? | |
| Alanis Morissette – Heart Of The House Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is essentially about the front her mother puts up around her friends and family. While living up to this front, Alanis' mother completely forgets about her own daughter and overlooks her. The last part of the song is her mother not believing that she's abandoned her daughter for so long; she can't even tell that they inhibit the same characteristics. Also, the alternate spelling of women as womyn, is a feminist term because women is apart of the men and womyn is a standalone. | |
| Imogen Heap – Hide and Seek Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is utter and complete beauty. I interpret the meaning as all of the aftermath and mishegas that comes with a breakup. I love Imogen and I miss Frou Frou...what am I saying? She WAS Frou Frou!!! | |

This is obviously sex, though I was oblivious to this when I first purchased Vespertine. A train of pearls Cabin by cabin Is shot precisely Across an ocean I think this is when he releases himself into her. The "pearls" are sperm and her "ocean" is her...well, you know. |

| Björk – All Neon Like Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I dreaded this song when I first heard it (along with 5 Years, which is now a favorite), but when I forgot to switch from Bachelorette to Immature, this song started playing and it grew on me. I feel as if Bjork is giving aid/assistance of some kind. It's as if she is some kind of maternal goddess. | |
| Björk – Alarm Call Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I read somewhere on Wikipedia that the Buddhist remark came from the fact that she didn't agree with their rules of reincarnation. "... but I've been reading about reincarnation, and the Buddhists say we come back as animals and they refer to them as lesser beings. Well, animals aren't lesser beings, they're just like us. So I say fuck the Buddhists." My interpretation is that all of these random thoughts are just flowing out of her head and it's a great departure, though somewhat out of place, from all of the other tracks on Homogenic. |
