| Sarah - the lyrics that you have aren't correct, for the most part the ones that were originally posted are with the exception of "Get in the groove when the beat busts on" is still "Girl in the blue with the big bust on" the second time around. Your correction of little tyke does make sense but when Mika sings it live he always puts his thumb and index finger together like it's tight. | |

I'm not sure he's actually saying promiscuity is good as much as he's saying if you want to find love, than that's fine, or if you want to just get laid, that's fine also. | I think the video for this is suppose to premiere on Saturday. According to Wikipedia, there's suppose to be a stripper, the same little girl from the first video, and an old lady popping out of a cake. Now I know Wikipedia isn't very reliable but it sounds like something Mika would do, lol. | |

Okay, I finally found the interview so this is the last time I am going to post about the whole "So I tried a little Freddie" line. By the way, Mika never said he hated Freddie Mercury comparisons, he just doesn't really like it when people ask him to sing Queen. He has been voted the most promising new artist in the poll of influential and impartial music writers and broadcasters. Mika (pronounced "Meeka") is getting a lot of attention for an artist at the start of his career. His first full single, Grace Kelly, has generated 250,000 plays on MySpace in less than four months and is playlisted on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2. The single and his album, Life in Cartoon Motion, have been described as a fusion of Beck, Prince, the Scissor Sisters and T-Rex - but there is one artist almost everyone compares his voice to. It may seem to you that that's who he's referring to. Everyone interprets songs differently. Honestly, I've never heard anyone mention that line referring to Fred Astaire until I got onto this website. I'm just saying what Mika has said about the song. I figured he would be know better than anyone about who he's referring to in his song... This is what he said on a show called Taratata, which is a French music show (roughly translated to English): Nagui (host): "So, it's true, I felt a lot of opera influence in this album, a lot of sounds and voices- Freddie Mercury-esque, are Queen and Freddie Mercury part of your musical tastes?" Mika: "Yes, it was a big influence, but, quite late actually - I first heard about Queen when i was 16." Besides, loads of people compare Mika to Freddie Mercury so I don't really know how he couldn't be talking about Freddie Mercury. |

| Mika said in an interview it was about how everyone is out trying to find love or just sex in some cases. No matter what we're looking for or how we go about doing it, it's basically all just the same thing. He also said that he was really happy when he wrote this song and it's like a command for anyone listening to the song to feel the same way he did when he wrote it. Well, it worked for me because I always smile when I hear it, lol. | |
