I recently read a book in my English class called Anthem, by Ayn Rand, and I swear almost every word of this song matches up completely with that book. It's a really great song--a different take, sort of, on the old forbidden love cliche. |

Since the very first time I heard this song, I recognized the references to Adam and Eve. I always thought that the "This is the death of beauty" line was referring to the birth of Original Sin, though the arrow and the wine red sea are a bit confusing. |
