first off, the walkmen are one of my favorite bands, and this album is sooo stellar, it flows really well from the first song to the last, like a story, it starts out beautifull with whats in for me then follows the rat which just picks it up then it ends greatly at number ten thinking of a dream i had then the last song i can't think of the name right at the moment, but it finishes off just as good, so i would for sure suggest this album to buy,i have no regrets, and i am seeing then soon in concert actually, can't wait!
but ok the song to me actually seems like he did go through this relationship/battle with a girl, she didn't like him, and he did, but now he is completely over her, and she is trying to run back to him, and he is thinking, you seriously have the nerve to try and want me back when we were already through the last time and you wanted nothing to do with me, so i now want nothing to do with you, i tried to tell how i felt before but you wouldnt listen, so now he is pissed off and is just like "fuck off" too everyone at the moment |

oh and personally i found it really surprising that so many of you found this to remind you smashing pumpkins, i mean after hearing that i can sort of hear it in a way, but when i first heard this band i didn't think at all of smashing pumpkins, its more ambient then smashing is. |

i adore this song, its like a perfect story, you can just literally just feel it, the way its so calming then picks up like the climax of a story and it just rocks out from there, perfect, theres never really a boring moment in the song, and the lyrics and video go hand in hand!, the video is so beautiful, how its like a teen 60's kinda retro club, and all the red lighting, totally sets the mood! and the lyrics read perfectly into that classic love story, where you have such a crush on someone and are just waiting for that chance, that "moment" when you can finally see them, talk to them, etc.
also to comment on amanda, its so wrong to think that a person can't build there voice from other inspirational voices! its very easy to be influenced by many siingers and there voice style, and its easy to work out your own voice to change and adapt to a style you like. |
