I dont see why anyone complains about them not linking their song titles to their songs, imo I think its REALLY ****ing stupid to listen to a song called like freaking switchfoot "dare you to move" and all they say in the the chorus is "I dare you to move" LAME tfot is an amazing band and thom is a EXTRAORDINARY writer when it comes to songs on the newest album manipulator many people will say he kinda half assed it cause he used differant genres but anyways on to the point of the song being the nature of the fall of troy the title probably has VERY little if anything to do with the lyrics so forget about it, to me it seems he is talking about asking a girl to wait for him (thus the backing screams, and the fact that he is saying "wake the sun" aka "make it morning" "so the stars can shine above what we define" I think means putting whatever it is that they "define" perhaps their relationship or just whats happening between them either on the other side of the planet (metaphorically) or throw it away into nothingness (you cant see the stars shin in the morning) when he asks "Can you still see, what you first saw in me?" its pretty obvious he is kinda asking "do you still love me?, am I still the same person?" (someone said that johnny's mom always kinda asked this and thats true) "Staring at your glass smile," meaning people can look right through it.. see she is lying.. its fake she is putting on a show for him "The one you know that we are just dying to see." he just seems to want her to be happy and he is blinded by that to seeing her glass smile as a real one and no one is smart enough to notice it or maybe he is the only one to notice it and no one else can tell but he still wants her to fake it least for a while "Cut apart the words, forgetting everything, forever contradicting.." (personally this is my favorite tfot lyric and riff ever), he says he just wants to either forget about the argument, or the relationship because he just keeps saying/doing things that contradict himself and her anyways thats my long comment ripping it apart my way |

lyrics sound a little off... I think its "you dont intimidate, you cant incorporate you" just an observation outstanding song first I didnt like thoms writting style... now I cant get enough of it! lol I still think I like "Laces out, dan" better still a great tune |

this song seems allot more HE is the one in the relationship dying... that would explain the "I don't wanna see the day, her tears are falling on my grave." and he wants to tell her something so that he wont regret it when he dies, maybe something important like that he truely loved her or something and that he is sorry that he is dying thats what I feel about the line saying: "Her heart in my hands, it's too bad, no regrets..." or maybe that cheated on her or something... something big that he needs to say before he dies anyways thats my take on it |

I dont know I'm listening to this song and to me it really sounds almost like he was going out with this girl and and she was controlling him and "keeping him in a cage" refering to the first line of him coming out of his cage and "doing just fine" meaning that he prefers his freedom and what also makes me think that he is in this relationship and getting cheated on is that "chokeing on your alibis" it sounds like she goes out at night to cheat on him with this other guy, but he follows her and sees them together and that would also make sence of the whole "I just can’t look its killing me" to see his girl with some other guy and also the "Mr. Brightside" thing I think is that even though she hurt him he is going to basically say screw it forget her I can do better, even though he really is torn up about it and also the whole "it was only a kiss" line I think is that maybe he knows this guy and maybe saw her give him a goodbye kiss or something when she they (the cheaters) where infront of it of somthing like that... and of some more of my thoughts on the lines like "But it’s just the price I pay Destiny is calling me Open up my eager eyes" I think the part of the price is more like what he gets for dating this girl probably cause he knew she would leave him for another guy, the destiny thing could be taken many ways like maybe he realises that he can do much better, maybe it also means that destiny showed him that she is cheating on him or something, but I think that the opening his eyes bit is about him realising the whole ordeal, ok well those are my thoughts on this song maybe its something new I havent read anything beyond the first page of comments so if someone already said this type of meaning then sorry but yeah so in short I think it's about a guy who is getting cheated on and finally finds out by catching her with him and decides to take a turn for the better ok well yeah thats it.... |
