Maybe the song "sucks" to everyone because they haven't been in the same situation as the strong writer. I can closely relate to this song. The lyrics kind of suck, but they're from the heart. And that's the only way I can get into lyrics, they either have to make me feel something, or get me thinking logically about shit and make me say "damn, that was clever". Most of the time, TBS is the earlier. The song is about the akwardness of a relationship. The song writer and the person it is about both like each other, and they both know it. But something stopped them. Perhaps they both have trust issues. But they both know they can't live on like this, they want each other, but their thoughts are fueled by the past. They just want to go back into time and fix the mess, but neither of them want to take the initiative to do it. They're both afraid of failing, so now they are waiting.. maybe hoping things will become like they were back then. |

Amazing song and very powerful. I agree with everyone who said the song was about two "dirty" people coming together and "cleansing" themselves. I think that is what the "soul meets body" line means. To love each other on a much more deeper level. The song leads me to believe that the narrator and person he/she is speaking to both want to forget their pasts. I think the song is somewhat sexual, about two people who had a "dirty" aka "sexual" past, and now they are trying to forget the past to attain perfect happieness. They're both people so used to meaningless sex that meeting someone they truely care for is uncommon, and they truely want to charish it. |
