Billy Bragg – It Says Here Lyrics 15 years ago
I hate to point out the obvious, but it seems to be about The Sun newspaper (and I use the word newspaper in the loosest sense of the word there).

Flipper – Ever Lyrics 16 years ago
You clearly have no idea about what emo is or how it originated then. I doubt you've ever listened to bands such as Embrace, Rites Of Spring, Moss Icon or City Of Caterpillar; I suppose your conception of emo is one of bands such as My Chemical Romance.

Emo is entirely separate from gothic rock, they're both offshoots of punk, but they're totally different things. Try learning something before you give your ill informed opinion in future.

Moss Icon – As Afterwards the Words Still Ring Lyrics 16 years ago
He's using the word in context, I don't see how you can think it's wrong. He's just quoting a character; there's no racist intent behind it. Whether or not a word should be used depends on the meaning it is given by the context it is used in. It's never always wrong to use a particular word.

Black Lungs – In Memory Lyrics 16 years ago
One of the first songs I've heard in a while which is genuinely touching. It's obviously about someone Wade knew who died of cancer and I think the way that the song talks so frankly about it, actually mentioning cancer, chemo, radiation and cigarettes, makes it so much more powerful than a song that obscures its meaning behind metaphors.

Dinosaur Jr. – Over It Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm a latecomer to Dinosaur Jr. Having listened to pretty much every other American Underground band I could find over the lat few years since getting into Black Flag, I neglected some of the more obvious well known bands. I just discovered Dinosaur Jr the other week when I saw the video for this on Scuzz, and I've been listening to it on repeat ever since.

Circle Jerks – I'm Gonna Live Lyrics 17 years ago
Man, the Circle Jerks have certainly got better with age and I can't wait to hear some more new stuff, their cover of The Slave is also pretty damn good.

Frank Turner – Long Live The Queen Lyrics 17 years ago
Like Whilll said, it's about a friend of Frank's who died but really lived her life, and i guess in a broader sense it's telling everyone to live their lives to the full.

Against Me! – Walking Is Still Honest Lyrics 18 years ago
it seems to me that in part at least this isn't directed at God in general, but rather at the really hypocritical 'christians'. When he mentions the 'privileged heaven' it makes me think that it's refering to the idea of those people that only they will get to heaven and fuck everyone else.

Perhaps the 'not my son, not my family' bit is refering to how the church isn't going to get him/his family.

Also the line where he says 'you haven't given up on me', who's the you he's refering to?

Million Dead – I Gave My Eyes To Stevie Wonder Lyrics 18 years ago
I emailed Frank asking him what it was about and here's what he replied:

um, it's a song about how we disguise the truth of things from ourselves, very deliberately, so we don't have to think about the real impact of what we're doing, and how lame that is. example: hamburgers don't look like flesh. if everyone had to kill their own food i thin there'd be a lot more vegetarians. something along those lines. the title is a reference to Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

So there you have it.

Dwarves – Demonica Lyrics 18 years ago
It seems to me that this song's about shagging some 13 year old girl...i could be wrong but that sounds pretty typical of the Dwarves to me XD
