OutKast – Land Of A Million Drums Lyrics 16 years ago
I meant to say the Vincent Price line, whoops.

I think the Vincent Price might just be homage to House on the Haunted Hill, or just old horror movies.

Tokyo Police Club – La Ferrassie Lyrics 16 years ago
I was immediately attracted to this song, I think I can appreciate slow songs easier because they help me concentrate better when I'm drawing. Though I love my fair share of fast songs.
Anyway, I really like the idea of a person being lost or forgotten like a fossil, like Oranje said; but overall it seems like a fairly simple song.
It's really haunting, and pretty. Until the end when it picks up, which is enjoyable as well.
I know it's Songmeanings not Songreviews, but there's not much to analyze, I suppose.

M83 – Don't Save Us from the Flames Lyrics 17 years ago
Of course someone is going to relate the song to drugs. Almost every song that is on this website has a comment about it being about drugs. Crystalegg, just because you think it's about Crystal Meth doesn't mean you're correct, so don't call anybody an idiot.
Did anyone catch the story that Vee wrote on page one? It makes this song a little more haunting than it already is.

M83 – Teen Angst Lyrics 17 years ago
I always thought at the end he was saying
"I am so glad we're crying."
Either way, I love listening to this song. I remember the first time I heard it; it was the same reaction I had when I first heard "Don't Save Us from the Flames." I think this song has a pretty straight forward meaning, so simple and so beautiful.

Dir En Grey – Higeki ha Mabuta wo Oroshita Yasashiku Utsu (English) Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is really painful for me and I don't even know why. I can't listen to it without crying and the story behind it doesn't help. This song doesn't remind me of anything horrific that happened to me in my life, it actually reminds me of my past. It feels like a nostalgic song. Not only that but it's also the melody and the way it's sung. I miss the old Dir en Grey but still like the new Dir en Grey. Mixed feelings, really.
Anyway. I don't really feel like sharing the meaning I think this song has. You guys pretty much took the cake on that one.

System of a Down – ATWA Lyrics 17 years ago
I was just watching an interview with Charles Manson and he said "I'm gonna rule this whole world through ATWA." The reporter said it was one of his theories or something, I'll look more into later but these comments are already giving me some insight into what it is.
I don't know how the song relates necessarily though.
Here's the interview is anyone wants to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cijfMQuiB_s&feature=related

Pinback – Boo Lyrics 17 years ago
If people are interested in the radio broadcast, which the quote in the beginning comes from, there's more to read here: http://jeff560.tripod.com/wotw.html

It's a dramatization of H. G. Well's "War of the Worlds."

Pinback – Penelope Lyrics 17 years ago
So, I agree with the idea of this song Penelope being based on the myth of Penelope, and also Blistering Pree's idea because I remember reading somewhere that this song was about a girlfriend he knew who had a drinking problem and she was a Pisces.
They both make a good amount of sense.

M83 – Dark Moves of Love Lyrics 17 years ago
Wow, I can't believe this song doesn't have any comments.

Might this be about a lover who has died and the persons alive lover is obsessed with bringing him/her back? I think this because it says "can you hear me in the void?" Which would most likely talk about death since in the song it mentions fighting time.
So...yeah, that's my interpretation.

I really love the part when "I will fight the time and bring you back" starts to become more audible through all of the noise.
This song is really good, I didn't know what anyone was really saying up until now. The lyrics are very depressing if that is what the song is about.

Marilyn Manson – This Is The New Shit Lyrics 17 years ago
"Do we get it? No!
Do we want it? Yeah!"

Hahhahaahaa. Priceless. I think everyone get's what he's trying to say in this song.
Even the music video is kind of mocking. Him with grills? C'mon. I don't think he was serious when he made this song.
I don't know if he was making fun of all his fans; trying to say they'll like him even if he were to sell-out.
Or if he were making fun of people who claim to be a hard-core Marilyn Manson fan and they were just saying that to be cool.

Who knows?
I still like this song though, but I understand what he's saying so I guess that's good enough. I don't really call myself a fan but I do dabble in his music because it's good.
Oh yeah, and if he was serious and he wasn't making fun of anyone at all...then, oops. :/

Wow, I looked at the comment above mind, I think Alice Unrequited makes a good point. There are also some good analyzations of this song in other comments as well.

I don't have anything to add though.

Imogen Heap – Speeding Cars Lyrics 18 years ago
I haven't read everyone's comment but when she said "don't feed me violins," I thought of it as don't sweeten anything. Don't try to sugar-coat what you did. I'm looking at the terminology as when guys or anyone makes a lovesong for the person to make them feel better and she says don't feed me violins. I hope you guys get what I'm saying. >.

Now that I think about it koalaburr brings up a very good point but some of the parts don't fit in with the theories. >__< this song is very abstract.

Rammstein – Sonne Lyrics 18 years ago
This song was originally going to be used as heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko's entrance music, but was never used. The demo name of the song was Klitschko. Even without the use as Klitschko's entrance music, the song still references boxing through the verses and the counting to ten, as a referee does for a potential KO.

30 Seconds to Mars – The Kill Lyrics 18 years ago
Does this have any reference to "The Shining" by Stephen King? The video that is, to me the lyrics are pretty straight forward. I'm too lazy and tired right now to interpret it. Anyway, yeah but if you think the idea of the video was partly inspired by "The Shining" please explain to me in what way? I'm having a hard time with it. xD

The Cure – Lullaby Lyrics 18 years ago
I've listened to this song a lot more and have conjured up other theories about this song. It might also be well about rape but between father and son. For some weird reason that's the type of vibe I get from it, that or just homosexuality in the rape. I know it was about a dream he had, but the tone of the song the lyrics he chose it's just what it makes me think of. It also works very well with these characters I have, you see....>.> anyway, this is such an awesome song, I never get tired of it! Actually I have thought it was about incest and rape when I first heard the song but I thought that was a little far-fetched to come up with that much theory over such a short song like this.

Donovan – Hurdy Gurdy Man Lyrics 18 years ago
I must admit when I saw this in the Zodiac it got stuck in my head, in a creepy way. This song is so spooky and I don't know why since it's talking about such tranquil, peaceful stuff. The tone of his voice creeps me out. I didn't know what he was talking about at all until I came here to take a look at the comments, I really like it though.

The Smiths – Meat Is Murder Lyrics 18 years ago
I keep looking at these comments and seriously should stop. I tried becoming a vegetarian and it's so hard. Am I supposed to hate myself because I can't become one? I don't think so, I'm only 14 anyway, but I will try harder when I move out. Then It'll be easier because I won't have to sit at a dinner with people chomping away on meat while I eat...meat...substitutes. I'd really like to try becoming vegetarian though, not vegan...that's too hard. But anyway, I respect you vegetarians (well the nice ones not the mean, grim ones...that oddly remind me of zealotic Christians.) And I admire your dedication. As for the song, it's really spooky and it seriously does stay with you. I wish they could find more painless ways to kill the animals atleast.

Emilie Autumn – Gothic Lolita Lyrics 18 years ago
This is based on the book by Vladimir Nabokov. I must say that book and this song, do not pertain to the Japanese style. They have nothing to do with eachother. Matter fact it was Lolita that was used to describe the girl, she wore cute clothes. Ofcourse it doesn't really have anything to do with Japanese Gothic Lolita. There is erololi though...>.>

The Knife – Kino Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is as Spicer said so blatantly about rape. To me at least, it does make much sense. I couldn't understand her at first. I think also she's trying to block it out by thinking of linen and lace. And daydreaming that she's a rocket and what not.

"Then I had to climbe down
I went down to see the sun rise
and then I had to climbe back up again
I had to be there to see the sun rise
All the air that you sent to guide me
had a tone of the elephant grey
we were all there in the morning
we were there and we wanted to stay"

This line doesn't make much sense though. Any clarifications anybody? You can listen to the song on youtube if you're having a hard time finding it.

My Chemical Romance – I Don't Love You (Like I Did Yesterday) Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't think it's right that people keep using 12 year old girls as a reference. Because some 12 year old girls do have some sense, I'm 13 so I kind've feel bad for them. I just think that it's about the caner patient, and that his lover can't love him like she did before. So though she still loves him it's just not like it used to be. And the patient knows this, so since he's probably going to end up dying, he's not as angry as you think he you would expect, which is why the song is more melodic and soft.

My Chemical Romance – You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this song is talking about prison rape, because Gerard said himself that he wrote song about two guys having sex eeerrr something like that I have to watch the interview again to quote the exact words. But if you just read the lyrics with the thought of prison rape in your head, it'd make more sense. How he says he can't but I can (like someone threatened him and the second time he's like "okay, I can o.o"
