| This song is about Robin's true to life insecurities about himself and his relationship with Paula Patton. I see racial tones, i see social tones amongst other physical and social tones. He is white she is black, she may like to hang out with the party crowd, he doesn't. She is a party girl and he isn't a party guy. Whenever they might have a disagreement, she says its because they are different. He feels that the reason why he can't make her love him like he wants her to love him is because of he himself. His insecurities really show on this song. He doesn't think she loves him or thinks she is cheating (its a rumor she does cheat with other women though). He thinks that her other people in her life influence to be different and he thinks these other people get in the way of her seeing that they want very much the same things. | |

This song is about a guy who is so into a girl who isn't exactly into him, just wants to be friends, or may not be ready to be serious. He definitely is an insecure guy. He then does some things that tries to convince her to want him now. They don't seem to work so he basically makes himself believe that he doesn't need her in his life. He brings her down with this negativity and this be so pressed for them to have a relationship. However she views him as a perfect guy for a relationship but maybe not for her or right now. There is something she is doing that makes him think to keep trying and then switch up and not want to even associate with her anymore. Then, when he decides not to deal with her anymore, he figures out that he can't let her go that easily and needs to try again. She gets annoyed with his on and off again type of relationship and finally decides not to even deal with him anymore even on a friendship level. |

Error, how can you say that without backing up any examples or with discussion. It gets play on MTV because he has a great soulful voice with lyrics that any body can relate to. anyways....... Its not a secret that he is very insecure about his wife and their relationship. She is beautiful. He is um yeah. There is a rumor she is very very bisexual. I am talking about Paula Patton by the way. Maybe with that little tidbit his songs and lyrics will make you think differently of the meanings of his songs. The whole cd is about him being more secure about his music, his life and himself. You can tell his first two albums are all him just telling you whats going in his life, what he thinks and his relationship. |
