I think the songs about remembering a time in your life when you were at your most happiest yet knowing you won't top that, soo u kind of just go along with the flow of everyday life. 85 kind of makes me think of jenny's happiest year and her mom and dad being happy before they split. Also to take something with a grain of salt is to not believe something completely. To kinda still have an ounce of doubt and caution. That's my take. |

I think that maybe she realizes love is like a sword, if your not careful, you could get cut. Seems she doesn't really wanna take her chances, playing with love even though it might be something the movies she has seen seem to tell her otherwise. Notice she never says you at the last I love, probably jennys way of sayin she'll never be "owned" or tamed. |

To me knowing how jenny writes and how she uses metaphors, I think the dance moves (clearly from troop beverly hills) represents her being an actress and in the spotlight. Yet being that she cannot do the smurf, she is real and flawed, like everyone else. Which is why she might go on to tell of all the other normal things she does like make mac and cheese or sleep for vast amounts of time. And I think maybe by the time she makes this guy see that yeah she is more notable and famous but still normal and not intimidating like "his girl", She gets fed up and tired |

| Haha, love this song. From what I remember blake and jenny saying years ago , was that blake started writing about how he missed different memories about being in a relationship. Pappillion was a movie he watched with a former girlfriend. The line about "pick your lips till their bleeding" makes me think of being on coke. Cause "don't you know I fell?" makes me think of a comedown. And "the lair of the queer devil is deeper than you thought", I don't think it literally means gay. Queer devil was a popular phrase back in the day. Soo I think maybe its when someone realizes that they are in to deep and over their head with this devil or sin cause they are now seeing just how bad and much trouble it brings. That's just a different angle. Oh but jenny and blake did say the alt.com part was a joke. They thought it would be funny if people really checked it out. | |
