I love this song. It makes me happy every time I listen to it. I think it's about honest and true love. Ture love is simple, makes you happy and is not complicated, revengeful or whatever. It also has a slight graduation- from the first kiss to marriage (and sex). First he wants to hold her, then kiss her, then touch her and in the end "thrill" her- that probably means thrill her in bed ;) But he will wait until she gives him the right to make her his wife. That's so cute and romantic :) So- where ist the girl running away, that she has to come right back? I imagine something small as her going to work and him staying longer in bed and he will already miss her for thos 8 hours, that she's gone. Or she's going to school somewhere and they won't see each other for weeks. No matter how long or far the trip will be, he will always miss her, when she's not around. Maybe some people might think of that as too much, but I don't. It's just cute. :) |

i think it's about a bi or gay guy, who meets a very nice girl and likes her and maybe wants to be in a relationship with her, but he's still not sure about his feelings and probably sexuality. first they meet and everything is fresh and nice and exciting.. then- hmm, he actually wants to be the girl, not just be with her. so, when he says "i want to say i do", for me it means- he would like to really love her and maybe marry her (by saying "i do")- but he can't. it's like someone says to you " i would like to help you..." ("...but i wont"). it can also be universal- there were people in all of our lives, who would be "good for us", who loved us or who are nice people. but if you don't feel the same way, then it's not worth it. this song reminds me of something like that. |

i think it's about death. the ship is taking him far away, far away from the people who care about him. it's like old myths about dying people going to the undergroung world on a ship. but for this song it's maybe a space ship :D i don't know. i think that when we die all our souls go somewhere in the universe. this song reminds me of something like that. with every part of it. i feel like flying through the universe. but it could be, that he's just moving to another country for work or something. or just deciding to move on with his life and leave someone (i don't know if it's worth it anymore) "Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations" he feels that his hopes and expectations are worthless like something sucked in a black hole, but at the same time it could be something good, because we don't know much about black holes and maybe they aren't that bad (the revelation part). :D he really doesn't know what he's singing in this song- he's a little sad, a little happy, hopeless, but hopefull... "Hold you in my arms I just wanted to Hold you in my arms" if i would be dyiing sng or travellomewhere far away, i would like to hold someone i love, too. "I'll never let you go If you promise not to fade away Never fade away..." hmm..he thinks, he found a person who is worth it. and he won't go (to another country to work :D ) if the person won't fade away. the fade away part represents a human relationship that isn't breaking or falling apart. it's just fading away. i think fading away is the worst kind to end a relationship (except death). |

the video is about the government, but i think the song can be about more things. i think it would be a pity if the whole song is just about 1 thing-about politics.. :/ i know when i write poems they're all about many different things and i think it's the same here. first i was thinking is't about a girl who is taking drugs and ruining her life and killing other people :D and he says that their time is running out- life is too short to spend it on stupid things.. |
