I often think of this first verse and it helps me get a little perspective on things. It reminds me that not everything in life is under our control. We can't let that stop us from enjoying life. If only it would sink in enough for me to take some risks instead of always worrying about what might happen... maybe someday. |

I love this song. That said, I'm a bit confused about her use of the term "box your ears." The only meaning I know of that phrase is as a physical punishment (hitting the ears). It perplexes me every time I hear it, but maybe I'm just ignorant. |

This is the song that made me fall in love with Laura Veirs. It's so vivid and conjurs up the most beautiful images (at least for me). I want to say it's a bit like a surrealist painting- sort of dreamlike- but I don't know enough about that to really make the comparison.
In any case, the aesthetics of this song are incredible. |

This is probably my favorite song (at least top two) on this album, which is my favorite of hers.
This song always brings to mind the feelings of first love. It's so beautiful and delicate and almost naive. It's very emotional, yet has this stillness to it. I'm not really able to articulate it very well, but this song touches me everytime I listen to it. |
