| I have wracked my brain trying to figure out what this song is about. To me, the moral is that feeling like a freak sucks, but even worse than that is not having the freedom of choice. I mean, the first two kids mentioned have something weird about them, so obviously that makes them feel embarrassed, but then it says, "but both girl and boy were glad, cuz one kid had it worse than that" and then it goes on to say that this kid's parents make him come home right after school, and make him go to a weird shaker church. Whatever the meaning is, I love this song. | |

| Even though this song is obviously about a romantic relationship, I've been able to (loosely) relate it to friendships headed south. Like when it says "How's it going to be when you don't know me anymore?" Like, what happens when we move on with our own lives? Will you just forget about me? This song must have a million plays on my iPod from hard times friendship and relationship wise. Either way, it's a great song. | |

| I think this is a song everyone can relate to. One of my friends not too long ago was telling me about how this song fit his situation so well, and then just about a month ago I listened to this song, and even though what my friend had been going through was totally different than what I was going through, I could still relate it to my life too. This is a great song, and a great band. Everything they write is so meaningful and heartfelt, and I think that's why people relate so well. | |
