| Slayer – Captor Of Sin Lyrics

go listen to your live undead albums..."this song is for all of those[] who spread their legs in the middle of the nights!"--tom's intro to captor of sin...I think this song is maybe more about whores than rape...as blatant as the lyrics may be indicating forced sex, I think it really speaks more about being a slut and maybe a captive of your own nature...the captor of sin could be a womans uterus...and the sin would thus be his "demon seed"...just a thought...and I know there is always this controversy between women secretly wanting to be taken, and women saying that is not the case--and I agree, being a woman, rape does not sound fun to me, but emulating with my husband in a safe environment is quite a stimulating experience. I've had relations while this song was playing and I felt as though slayer were singing an anthem about women who crave sex more than men. |

man, you can tell no one ever gets to hear this one...angel of death has like 40 comments...this one, just two of the same stupid comment..it's not that new slayer songs are parodies of the older stuff...it's just well, they're all like middle-aged and gray-headed and confused...and when you look at the artistical input of all the members from like haunting the chapel through christ illusion, king is the only one writing the shit nowadays...I bet he's got a drummer complex---everyone knows it's time to quit but he's still like "come one let's go play at the rec center in the shady acres nursing home and/or VFW circuit!" The music is still amazing...I just don't think it's a group effort anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if illusion is their last one. |

This is an awesome song...it's a shame it's so rare...most newly-made slayer fans don't get the opportunity to hear it. |

I could be wrong and I mean no offense by what I'm about to type...Believe me I LOVE Bowie and I LOVE Jagger....but I was told by reliable sources, that it is about Bowie and Jagger sharing more than songs..if you catch my drift...and Angie found out about Bowie the hard way...Jagger had a thing for Angela and she rejected him forever...that's what you get for being famous, sexy, and married! |

The video for this is so Aeon Flux-y...it has these obvious messages of sex in it...like there are pistons moving to the groove of the music in their joints...they're all greased up and you see Burton and he's all sexy...and then there's Dino and you're just like "NOOOOO!!! I'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!!"....maybe this says more about me than FF...iunno |

"Surrender" to me is definitely about parenting...but it's from the child's point of view. It tells us to give in to what your parents tell you to do, they know better, and they have been where you are. You have to trust them, and give in without relinquishing who you are. It's like "Teach your children well"...it says to teach your parents well too. |

I can't believe there aren't already a million posts in here about how awesome overkill really is!!! I mean, my god...
anyhow...this one is pretty "just what it says". Evil never dies. It replicates at an amazing rate though.
One of the best fucking walk-ups I've ever heard, too. |

I really think more about what the music's doing to interpret lyrics...people think slayer is very surface-styled and pretty self-explanatory...however, this song is not just about going to hell...it's about going to one of their shows. It's a pretty popular opener for many of them. Trust me, it takes on a different meaning when you see them do it. |

I went home and thought about it, and I personally think this is less a tribute to Mengele and more of a descriptive warning. "Auschwitz, the meaning of pain--the way that i want you to die." I honestly don't think they are jackboots, or that they glorify Mengele, I think he just knows that it was one of the most horrible atrocities performed in a death camp, more of a de-humanizing process than any medical experiments, and he hates someone enough to want to do this to them...actually most of their songs are about hating someone and then killing them. Oh well, King's awesome on guitar. |

man...I always thought he was saying.."here's my stupid house...feels like being boned." The rest of the song was really unintelligible, so up to this point I really thought it was a song about shooting people because they were a bad lover. Man, I feel dumb. |

also you shouldn't be mean to simpletons, they aren't responsible for what they've been forcefed. Besides..the bible's got some pretty cool stuff in it... I would get baptized if they used real blood instead of that "use your imagination..it's a metaphor" water shit. |

is it fucked up that this song makes me want to fuck my guy? I mean...it creates such a good tempo.
Oh, and Slayer doesn't have to be aryan to enjoy writing about what fucked up things people do to each other...besides..if anyone here wants to work up a survey of anybody who wouldn't want to do this shit to somebody else themselves, I'll put my name on it. Just enjoy the violence and relax. |

| Tool – Aenema Lyrics

when I was young and stupid, I was a member of the tool army and it was pretty common knowledge that in addition to all of the talk about california and arizona bay, Keenan actually was a firm believer in the planet x or niberu theory--that 10th psuedo planet/asteroid that has fallen almost into orbit with our solar system will have an adverse path when making complete orbital attraction and be slingshotted to the earth. It was supposed to happen in 2000, tool took a hiatus (perhaps believing we were all going to die) then came out with lit in 2001, and now there music's gone really soft. I think niberu had more to do with a disruption in their music than it did CA.
On another note...I stopped buying their music when I went to the aenima tour. Keenan stopped in verse to shout "Repeat after me! I'm a free thinker! I can think for myself!" And everybody did...and it was really a lame way to say 'fuck you' to your fans. All in all, Maynard is an asshole. It's cool if you like them, just don't glorify them. |

I have to agree with ledzep111...this is truly the greatest hooker tale ever told. I just wish beginners would stop playing it in guitar world.
I heard this song when I was like two...but at that point it was just a bunch of gibberish...then again so was I...anyway, my parents were crazy about this song when they were my age, and now it's just a led zepplin song...I mean--there are so many other great songs...I hate that this is their most popular. |

| The Cure – Want Lyrics

As a devoted fan of the Cure, this song means an awful lot to me. Now, I am aware that songs may have just one literal meaning (depending on the artist), such as a specific wartime event, or a known ex-lover, or the birth of the writer's child, but no one ever takes into consideration that the best songs are of a general meaning that ANYONE can identify with. This is perhaps my favorite example of just that. When I hear this song--Robert's strained voice coinciding with the perfect notes from the instruments, just the right amount of cymbal and snare--it gives me an awesome feeling of self-pity and guilt and despair...pretty much all those emotions associated with depressed moods. I can hear this song and feel childish and petty again--no sense in quoting the first half of the song--and immediately I feel that same sense of self sabotage and anger that one get's when you reach the age where you realize you can't have it all. I think this feeling comes and goes throughout your life and in any aspect of life, be it money or love or drugs or head...it's just a song meant to make the listener feel the way that the writer did at that point. Isn't music really just a way of expressing your thoughts and feelings? and not necessarily a narrative? |
