Garbage – Push It Lyrics 19 years ago
I thought "beats" was "tears" =s

And that the song was all about fame and the rise to it; that she's sorry she hurt all the people she did on her rise to fame, and all the stress.

with "tears" i thought it could be acting, using a bad experience to further your career - she's telling herself not to worry, 'cos she'll stay up all night rehearsing lines "making it better"

Meh.

Placebo – Every You Every Me Lyrics 19 years ago
um. well.

i can't be bothered to read all these interpretations so, i'm sorry if this has been mentioned before.

I think this song is from two sides, such as:

"Sucker love is heaven sent.
You pucker up, our passion's spent."

"My hearts a tart, your body's rent.
My body's broken, yours is bent."

such as an argument between two people, perhaps lovers, perhaps just friends, one who liked the other more than they loved them.

personally, i think this is about a girl being infatuated with a guy, completely and utterly, but the guy going with another girl (reference to the first verse) and her heart breaking.

and the guy finally realizes what he's done, but it's too late. "sucker love, i always find, someone to bruise and leave behind".

"carve your name into my arm" could possibly relate to drugs, or, more likely, self-mutilation. she "loves" him, perhaps so much that she does that to himself, to make him see what he's done to her.

the guy's opinion of her could be "Sucker love is known to swing.
Prone to cling and waste these things."

that she's swinging from loving him to hating him, prone to cling to him and waste his time, and their friendship.

the girl's reaction may be, " serve my head up on a plate.
It's only comfort, calling late."

She tries everything, grovelling, begging, but it's too late.

their friendship is broken.

"something borrowed, something blue" is maybe an overexaggeration on the girl's part - that she thinks that the guy and his girlfriend are going to get married, having children, ect. further leading her into depression.

"coz there's nothing else to do, every me and every you"

Perhaps a slightly schizophrenic line?

But possibly relating to the person the boy was with her, the boy he became, the boy he was like with his girlfriend, and the girl, her many faces. everyone is two faced, and how the relationship changed as the people changed.

Thanks.
