| The Black Keys – Ten Cent Pistol Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| so, it's quite obvious what this song is about. revenge. jealousy. a woman scorned. i love the track. these boys have so much soul it's ridiculous. the only question i have - the title of the song is Ten Cent Pistol and that's slang usually for laced drugs to kill a dealer's customer that "crossed them". i wonder if that's the case here or are they using "Ten Cent Pistol" for an actual weapon. if so, it gives it an old pulp novel feel which i think is great. either way, it's a fantastic song. anyone know, though? | |

hey thanks! where'd/how'd you get the lyrics? I don't know how many times I just kept listening and listening to it, trying to get the words. it was a good go, but obviously not all correct and I kinda knew it. Was hoping for someone to come in with corrections too. thanks again! :) |

| Joan Osborne – St. Teresa Lyrics | 18 years ago |

St. Teresa isn't necessarily a person, but a place. She says "Corner St. Teresa..." as if she is talking about a landmark. Either a street named so where this person is located or even, and I've actually looked it up, a church by the name of St. Teresa (which there is one where she lived in Kentucky and one in New York City, where she also lived) that this person she speaks of in the song is found. Of course it really could be about anyone. A prostitute or even just a homeless mother with her baby on the street who is sick, or makes money by hooking, or something of that sort. If you are sticking to her actually talking about St. Teresa herself, there's two who's patronages match for this story she could be telling. There's Saint Thérèse de Lisieux, which is for AIDS sufferers, missions and a few other things. Then there's Saint Teresa of Ávila, loss of parents, people in need of grace and so on. |

| The Monkees – Randy Scouse Git Lyrics | 18 years ago |

it's actually quite self-explanatory. they're obviously tired of being pushed around and after all they've done for these people (record companies, fans), they're still treated like the red-headed step child. it's probably ONE of my favorite monkee songs. |

| Lamb – B Line Lyrics | 19 years ago |

this song is self explanitory, of course. but i just LOVE how she describes how she feels with the ba-da-ba-da's because not only does it really feel like that, but the music makes you do the same. it's brilliant (as Lou tends to be always). i remember how it felt to feel like this. like you just can't get enough of someone or that you try, but you can't control yourself when they come to mind or in the room. it's a wonderful and scary feeling. i'd give anything to have it back! |

| Veruca Salt – Volcano Girl Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Eight Arms to Hold you was not Veruca Salt's last album, but it was the last album with Louise and Nina together. After this Nina went on to do her own solo stuff. For me, after Nina left, VS was never the same. the nod to "Seether"...that's from their first album American Thighs where their first hit/single is called......"Seether". you should listen to that first album. it's f'ing great and better than Eight Arms (even though some of my favorite songs are on Eight Arms -ie. Shutterbug). Apparently Seether is about a woman's anatomy, if you will. and as said up there the "coup de gras" the seether's Louise, yes i believe this was Nina's way of saying she was done with VS or possibly just the whole thing. that is till she went solo (which is great too, but not like VS so don't go in expecting the rock they brought out as a group). and i'm done. |

| Peter Murphy – Cuts You Up Lyrics | 19 years ago |

it's a great autumn song. i have certain songs that go with seasons and this one is one of my autumn songs. right before it gets too cold, you can still drive with the windows down, or walk with just a sweater on. it reminds me so much of when i was younger...about 10 (when the album came out). i was at a party about two years ago when i was in college and the kid that was playing "dj" played it and i just screamed! no one understood why, only my friend the dj. i just sat, sang and smoked a cigarette while i drank a glass of rum. i loved it. i'd give anything to have those times back. |

this is that song that i always wished he was singing to me no matter how sad or celebratory it was. it's the only song with my name (spelt my way too) in it that i appreciate. it definately hit a chord with me most recently when i was left by someone i cared too much for. sometimes i like to pretend he did write it for me knowing such a time would come...is that silly? |
