i think that it's about a girl who is going out with a guy whose heart is really already taken, and broken; "I wonder what it is that I did to make you move, in across away from me." so she's wondering who broke his heart. who he is preoccupied with thinking about. although she really dosen't want to know, because she would loose sleep because it might hurt too much to know. "Well I'd spend all night, losing sleep , I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind" I may be wrong, this was just my first inital reaction to the song. oh, and these lyrics are wrong, but that's not suprising for this site. :] |

this song seems so relatable and powerful and touching to me. i see how it is about all any kind of human relationship, but i personally realate it to a romantic one. the lyrics are so deep and meaningful. i agree with the_fredinator as to the meaning of the song. you know how you are in a relationship and you get flowers or whatever? and then you don't want to throw them away. after you break up, those flowers are a reminder of what you had. if your love was deep, you might even put off getting rid of the flowers even after they start to die and rot, just because they are a symbol. those flowers are SOMETHING that lets you know that it was real. your relationship was real. your love was real. even if now it is gone. "some of the bulbs never opened quite fully they might so I'm waiting and staying awake Things I have loved I'm allowed to keep" hey, maybe i'm wrong. but that is the feeling that this song evokes from me. and it brings back memories. i love this song so much. hahah...and i'm done blabbing now. |
