I saw TMP in concert in Tallahassee back in January, and the lead singer said this song was about a girl that the band was friends with back home, and that she had overdosed and died. I can't remember if he said it was a suicide or not, but I think that it was. This song is about the regret of not being there for her when she needed him. He feels partially responsible for what happened to her. He started crying on stage and this was the first time I had ever even heard of them, I was instantly a fan because of this song. It is so sad. It is painfully obvious that even though it was years ago, it still haunts him. |

Yeah, he left earlier this year. He's still on the record, but the put him as like a guest. To be quite honest though, I like his vocals more than Derek's. Nothing against Derek, he has a wonderful voice, but Jason's is just more soulful and more heart-wrenching, espicially in this song. |

This song is so beautiful. I thought at first that this song was a sequel to "One Man Drinking Games". I would hope that it's not about his fiancee' cause it's about leaving the relationship. And her finding someone else. "Let's not pretend like your alone tonight, I know he's there." Not a very good g/f. That's also why I thought it was a single. Cause in OMDG he talks about her being the "Angel sent to save someone else." Idk, it just kinda fits to me. Wonderful song though, this and "You be the...." are probably the best on the album. Really great work, and I will SOO miss Jason too. |
