This song brought me out of the worst time of my own life when I needed it most. This was only about 3 months ago, and I was on the very verge of suicide, contemplating how my days and years had blended into one another and left almost no trace upon me, when I suddenly realized that music was playing somewhere. Attracted by the words, 'Time' and 'Standing still', I stopped and listened closely. When it was over I thought hard on how I could, perhaps, break the monotony of my days. I started getting out more often and went to the Castle (a Goth club) in Ybor City in Tampa, FL, for the first time. Now I'm addicted to VNV and the Castle. I now have things to look forward to and friends to chill and make memories with. I owe my life to VNV and the Castle! This song truly is powerful in every way. I'm listening to it even now, and can barely see my monitor for tears welling up in my eyes from the strength of the emotions this song draws from me.

Yay! I'm the first to comment on this one! Seriously, this song seems to serve as a reminder that all is not all light and innocent within this world. I personally am a hardcore Goth and see nothing wrong with darker pleasures, but to each her (or his) own.

As for this song, it speaks on so many different levels about life and purpose, I don't know how if we'll ever know the answers to it's questions. I'm listening to it as I type all this, and the power within it is almost overwhelming. It makes me want to dance, cry, love, laugh, sing, and LIVE all at once. Sorry for cutting this short, but I just HAVE to go rave now. Maybe I'll add more later. Bye everyone!

This song strikes me, a Goth-to-the-core 21-year old, as a perfect description of the vampire Lestat. If any of you have ever read of him and his Troop of Beloveds, you might understand what I mean. For those who haven't, he was barely out of his teens when Made, and from the first he was indestructible and utterly powerful. Yet he had never wanted to be Made, and seeks love and redemption throughout his never-ending existence as a vampire. I'm very similar. I have done a great deal that is viewed as evil by today's "society", and though I don't seek redemption or forgiveness, i do still seek love and the company of other darklings. If you've heard Blutengel's Angels of the Dark you'll know what I really want: to leave this dying world behind and start a new life, one without pain or sacrifice, where those of the Dark can live without persecution.
