the sister/nun part makes total sense & i think the "smells like 2 am" part actually has to do with jesus/the devil's hour. someone told me once that 3 am is considered the devil's hour because it is exactly the opposite of 3 pm, which is when jesus was crucified (it's an ubran legend that bad things happen at that hour of night). & im guessing that if she smells like it it means that she smells very much like unforgivable sin/demonical even? i dunno, but if you compare it to the nun part then it makes sense. especially since she's about to commit adultery (2 am is almost 3 am) & by the time she'll succeed it's 3 am. good song though. |

maybe more about every single parent who has a child now and uses it in order to gain things that they themselves never could. especially those parents who have the opportunity to do such a thing, because they have access to an entrance into showbiz. i agree it's about living thru your children. and we're supposed to feel sorry for these guys? |

this is such an amazing songs. and the video is so sexy. you dont understand...i keep listening to it ad nauseam. the one thing i dont get is the title, because alsatian technically means "german shepherd". it's also a dog breed, which would make sense due to: Put your dog on a leash repetition. that's as far as i got. saucy lyrics tho. looooooooove the"He licks down a knife To her wet apperture" - part. |

okay this is weird...somewhat. the song seems to be about a girl who worked for the BBC once and it's supposed to signify the way that the network is today being swallowed up by corporations & controlled by the government & money so that it's losing its freedom of speech. and the long-ago testcard girl is the symbol for that. |

apparently finn commented in an interview that it was about one of the band's junkie friends & that they didn't want to reveal her identity. it was mostly about her struggle with drugs and overdoses and how she tried to recover but never really succeeded. And your eyes and your lips Curl and twist curl and twist ^ that part of the chorus demonstrates the agony the junkie goes through while she's under the influence, i guess. |
