Silly people. It's definately a drug song. Brian was very into drugs at the time it was written. A tourniquet refers to the belt (or whatever you choose to use) that you tighten around your arm when shooting heroin. Ecstasy is a bitter pill. "We gamble to be born again" - drug users are fully aware of the dangers of drugs, but take the risk for the pleasure they get out of them. "Don't let me down" may refer to him never wanting to come down. For all you religious people out there: that's when the drugs wear off and you feel the exact opposite as you did when you were high: like shit |
