If you notice all the lines that start with "I'm a" he says one thing, then makes it redundant by saying another. by "chasing nickels and dimes" it means its like chasing nothing, its worthless, and he's wondering why he is doing it. the end. |

hmm. someone needs to go back to like preschool and learn ENGLISH....i mean seriously.. i really dont understand why people comment on songs they hate.... nobody cares how much you hate the song, they came here to see what the song meant, not how many people dont like it. but the meaning has been pretty much nailed-- they're spoofing rockers... and i know tons of people who say "totally dude"... not just surfers..i live far from the coast (im in ohio), so whoever wrote that is sadly mistaken. besides, who said surfers were the only ones who could/would say "totally dude"?? thats pretty judgemental in my opinion. i dont think its right when people say ooh surfers say that, or (i get this one all the time) YOU listen to rap?? no one informed me i wasnt allowed to like rap songs....i wasnt aware that although about 88% of my music is "rock" or "metal" the other 12% couldn't be other genres. my point is i do like this song... even if it is repetitive and *stupid* to some. ....peace (>-) (&& no hard feelings to anyone, i just dont understand why we spread the hate.) P.S. not all rock music is "stoner" music, in fact, most of it isnt. so what if some people use marijuana for inspiration...its not hurting anyone but them & their lungs. |

ok. so there is only one person who could get away withh hollerin "a bay bay, a bay bay" at me. and thats because he does it all the time, and he introduced me to this song =) normally i wouldnt listen to a song like this, hip-hop/rap or w/e isnt really my style, but then again i disagree with the people who think you can only listen to one music genre, they all have their good points, i think. but anyway i think it will be degrading when everyone is walkin past girls and yelling a bay bay.... some of the stuff that is said to girls is degrading enough. but it is catchy, and i might bet money on it happening. ...peace (>-) |

hmm.. are we no longer giving shakira credit for this song???? anyway... i really dont like either singer, but i do like this song.... i guess i must agree that their voices compliment each other... beautiful liar: smoothe liar, good liar, believable (until he got caught) so the irls realize that he was cheating on them, and instead at getting mad at each other (which is common) they get mad at him... not bad. i never really would have thought that shakira and beyonce looked alike, but in the vid it is kinda hard to tell them apart.. hmm.... peace... well, i can relate to this song,.... except im a girl, so i would be thinking of it as about a guy... i remember hearing this song when i was younger... way younger.. but it means so much more now. back then i liked it because it was a catchy radio tune that way always playing in the car... now i like it for who it reminds me of =) but its definately about a guy with a broken heart...whos simply just saying (sarcastically) it's not so bad... your only best i ever had. my guess is it IS pretty bad, and he misses her. i can se it about a breakup with this girl, or the suicide of this girl... and the sadness that is brought with it ...peace (>-) |

hmm. i liked this song so much more the summer before everyone decided they were in love with pete and this song was the best ever. same goes for all fall out boy songs. but i agree its about jealousy....i would add more, but honestly, with over 1000 posts, im sure someone covered it. peace (>-) |

well in most literature both *birds* and *black* are signs of death, and telling the blackbird to fly away (to me) is a metaphor saying 'don't let yourself die, instead rise above the pain (fly)' ...maybe im reading into it too much though. |
