going by the theory that this is about alcoholism, when he says "looking at you through the glass" i think "the glass" is the affect that alcohol has on him and the way that it seperates him, from the rest of the world so it feels as though he is just watching everything and not actually part of thge world and looking at the person through the glass is looking at them but not being able to reach them becauswe of the alcoholism...and he cant get through to them Xx |

There are two possible, similar meanings to this song. 1. What Eric means by 'Cause i know i dont belong here in heaven' could be that he is telling himself that he has to (to some extent) detatch himself from his son and he has to 'be strong and carry on' because he now does not belong where his son is, but here on earth where he must continue his life. 2. He could also mean (as some ppl have said) that what he means by not belonging in heaven, is that he should not go through with commiting suicide because it is not his time to leave and meet his son and he is unsure of whether his son would see him the same if he knew that his fathe commited suicide. i think this song is about someone wanting to help their friend through a drug/alcohol addiction but feeling like they aren't getting through to them. "Pray to God he heres you, And pray to God he heres you." Hoping that what they are trying to tell their friend gets through to them so they will get help with the addiction. **for all those people who are saying 'dont jus write...this song is great' or something lyk that, people can write wat they think the song means or jus that they think its great...freedom of speech people!** |
