This song is basically anti-American not in the sense that they hate the country, but rather what people in the country are doing, and where the countries priorities are at. The happy upbeat tempo I think is mocking "Yay, America" parades as it sounds very much like something a marching band would play in a pep rally or something like that. |

The second verse always tears me up. The visuals are so intense. As everyone's said it's definitely about an affair he walked in on. "When my father runs undressed, he's pointing at my throat" and "And my brother has a fit, in the snow" always choke me up. This song is incredible. |
