jjones are they really violating ricky's rights? last time i checked his album and the single from that album are living la vida loca which has nothing to do with viva la vida... and of course you don't like the new direction of coldplay, you said it yourself: you can't understand the lyrics and obiously this is too much for u... so don't criticise what you can't understand and go listen something simpler or go borrow a video barney and his friends... grue0some good theory, but louis philippe was the king when france was a constitutional monarchy and he didn't have legislative rights he only had executive authorities so his power was pretty much limited, he wasn't a king in the full meaning of the word... while on the other hand louis XVI. expirienced the king's authorities in an apsolute monarchy where the king's word was the law, also he ruled as the king of french in 1792. just the year after the revolution when his rights as a king were limited... also he was sentenced to death on a false accusation: "once you'd gone there was never an honest word"... when he was brought to the gallows he tried to make a speech to the gathered crowd but was interrupted by a drum roll hence "shattered windows and the sound of drums, people couldn't believe what I'd become" |

| obviously a brilliant song about the downfall of king louis and the french revolution... when he ruled, france was the mightiest country in europe which was at that time considered to be the whole world... also the sentence "one minute I held the key next the walls were closed on me" is a reference to the fall of bastilla the biggest prison in france at that time... when they sentenced him to death he walked through the crowd to the gallows where the revolutionaries waited for his head on a silver plate... as for the chorus, probably the moment of his death... you can picture in some historic movie the axe falls done on his neck and in the background music roman cavalry choirs singing and the bells of jerusalem ringing... a very powerfull song, where you can practically iimagine all these moments in the song of one of the greatest (if not the greatest) moment in world's history... trully remarkable | |
