I think it's about escapism and that's why it can be confused as a drug metaphor. After all, that's why people do them. I think it's a sad, realist song though. Like you're coming down and you need more (of whatever it is that takes you there) to make you happy, to take you to that place, but you know you're going to be back, following the Tambourine Man. Is it bad? I don't know. It's definitely beautiful, but I don't know why I get really sad listening to it. |
