U2 – Drowning Man Lyrics 2 years ago
@[emann333:45494] spot on. From Tumblr: “ The song itself is about drowning/struggling because one is far away from God and does not know God. It’s said to be about Adam Clayton, who was an alcoholic at the time, and the only band member who was not a man of faith. The words are spoken as if from the Lord, and meant to reach out and speak into the heart and give hope of a love that never ends (God’s love). This is why, the lines are all drawn from scripture.”

Bono used a biblical reference in this song:

Like eagles you'll run, you'll run
You'll run and not grow weary

Isaiah 40:31 reads:

They will soar on wings like eagles
They will run and not grow weary
