He is deeply in love with her and wishes to tell her how he feels and to hear her telling him she loves him back. This failure to achieve a deeper conection makes him reconsider the time hes probably wasting so he wonders if hed remember her after if he left or if hed regret it later. so where do we go when its all over and will you be coming back, coming to me? ---------- if the relationship ended, does she love him enough to come back to him? cause I've been waiting here to declare a new meaning to feel the way I do and it just happens to be one of the things that I'd like pretend cause I know you cant stand when I wake up, hold on to your hand and I'm sorry I'm not strong enough to let go of the things that I love way too much ----------------------- This is what happens following he break up, because he hopes that shell come back to him. Declaring the new meaning is establishing a deeper connection and hes been waiting for it but it seems like the girl doesnt really want that because she cant stand his deep loving ways. come to me and I'll tell you the story of how I became the way that I became set aside all the things that youve heard in the past have reasons but I'm still the same. light my way back home cause I'm feeling so alone --------------------- THe first 4 of these 5 verses show his desire to open up to her and express all of his feelings and the last verse shows that he feels alone in the relationship due to the fact that she cares little for his feelings then theres you, I'm tired of waiting when are you coming back, coming to me? ---------------------------- these last two verses seem to follow be following the break up, cause in the beginning he asked if shed be comming back to him, but she apparently hasnt. |

OK so heres my analysis of the chorus "you want to be dressed in poetry but imagery doesn’t fit and you want resizing but darling dear get a grip" you want to be dressed in poetry - the girl wanting to be praised constantly (in a poetical manner) but imagery doesnt fit - in terms of poetry, imagery is the visual aspect so the imagery not fitting to me seems like the girl is expecting the guy to 'dress her in poetry' even though she doesnt deserves it. THat is to say that the girl asks for praise without deserving it (doesnt fit). and you want resizing - the girl again asking for change, probably expecting more praise. but darling dear get a grip - poetry doesnt fit the image that the girl gives (her actions) so he tells asks her to get a grip (to calm down and not ask for so much praise without deserving it) |
