| Oh, Sleeper – Endseeker Lyrics | 14 years ago |

CopeFree, ironically I kind of thought the opposite thing: I thought this song is coming from the mouth of a follower of Jesus. When I think of the "So long all you children", and lyrics go onto to say "you can't up and leave", I kind of picture what the disciples must have been thinking when Jesus went up into heaven. They were freaking out because Jesus leaving them on the Earth was the last thing they thought Jesus was going to do. They feeling alone feeling of now what am I suppose to do? I think this song is about that overwhelming fear that followers of Christ deal with in their walk with God. We and I most definitely feel at times the intimidation that we are all alone in a dark world and the fear of that hard path where Jesus wants to lead us. Because after all, the path Jesus has for people who follow him is one that requires that they carry their crosses. A path that leads to not literal hell I think, but a life that can be very challenging. So in the song, I think the narrator knows these harsh consequences and outcomes that await for him since he is following Jesus. That is why in my opinion without a doubt the coolest lines of the song, narrator shouts "MAKE MY GRAVE OR ANIMATE MY VEINS" in realization that unless Jesus fills this person with the Holy spirit, the person walking the challenging path is screwed-- as it would be pointless to get through this life by himself. Awesome song though! I heard it live at one of their recent concerts, but I couldn't understand the lyrics at all so I thought the song was okay nothing special. But now that I understand the lyrics, I am absolutely blown away! Oh, Sleeper continues to grow leaps and bounds with their lyrics, writing style, and musicianship. I find it really cool that they build on themes from their other albums such as "When I am God" with the theme of relying on the 'Captain' being Jesus and then spiritual war theme from "the Son of the Morning" album. I am so stoked for this upcoming album, it is going to be amazing! I also can't wait to see them again in concert and sing this anthem with authority. |

| Secret And Whisper – Great White Whale Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Okay I have no idea what this song is about, but one thing realized from this album as a theme is that the lyriscs mention "animals" and "creatures" throughout the album. Like in the song Looming Moon, theirs a line "We try to live a life respecting all the animals" and in the song Great White Whale the line is "Return to the river, with the howling of all the animals that needed you". And in the song Anchors it says "Anchors drag me down to depths of sea where creatures can watch me drown". and it in the song Great Whie Whale it mentions "The creatures come from land, and sea, and air." I think the most important line in the song comes in "give the animals their whale". But like I said I have no idea what this song is about or the overall theme of this Album, but I know it has to do with creatures and animals, I'm sure if it literally animals though or that the animals are a representation of something that is evil. |

| Relient K – Pressing On Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think it is actually describing when we finally overcome sin in our life and walking with God and finally leaving our sin behind. This about our beginning relationship with God when recieve God's grace. When it talks about "I'm never knowing (never knowing) where we're going. To go back where I was would just be wrong. I'm pressing on.", it talking about how this person does not really the full presence of God is are really what God is totally about yet, but he's on fire for God, and this previous sin that ruled his life, he knows the death and despair brought him, and he knows he never wants to go back to that. So I think the main theme that i got from pressing on is that in our relationship at God, even though we might not know we are doing in our lives and what God is totally about, we need to just keep moving foward with this and not give up with Him and God really loves it when that happens. And I think this song mainly about, is finally conquering a deep sin that rules our lives, and when finally get out of it and even though we don't know what's totally going on, it's that awesome of the beginning relationship of God that follows. But this is probably one if not the most deeply spiritual songs that they have ever made I think. And that what I love about Relient K, they make you think of the deep meaning of their songs. When things get a little tough in my relationship with God and I kinda get a little eeeehhhhh like not knowing what exactly is going on., I just remember this song, it helps me move foward so much. |
