I think this song is about letting go of someone, especially after hearing this verse, "Pink cards and flowers on your window, Your friends all plead for you to stay. Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple. Sometimes goodbye's the only way." For me the pink flowers and cards are like things family and friends left in a hospital room, you know something that says get well soon. I think that new beginnings aren't so simple stands for starting over afterwards, i mean with a person in a hospital bed in so much pain it'd be easier to let them go, rather than start over as hard as it seems, if you live on like that it will be hard for everyone, so goodbye is the only way to really do it. |
