this is not about underoath.... its about jesus' journey with the disciples. sort of "you ran im still swinging" peter and thomas turned away and jesus came back to them. "forgive me for this but on the other side i wont hurt you" kinda bout the crusifiction jesus asks god why he has to go through what he did and god comforts him "give it some time..." this line could be alluding to jesus telling peter he will be the rock "Hard times are coming. we've established its talking about god. and alongtheway hit the nail on the head. hes knows god exists but he sees the world around him deteriorating, and doesn't know what to think.
