He is "beating" them with the bible, even tho it tels him to love. All in all, it seems as he is singing about a girl whos father denies her to see him. and the; Who do you carry that torch for, my young man? Do you believe in anything? Or do you carry it around just to burn things down? is the father talking to the boy. Maybe he things the boy has bad influence on his daughters. Or something like that. |
