Two perspectives, the female voice and the male voice. Two parts of a relationship that ends. He is happy about the end of the relationship but relieved that they will still be friends. She even said that they would remain friends... But then she feels bitter about the relationship and starts to give him a cold shoulder, ignoring him and not acting like friends at all. He is hurt by this and she is annoyed that he still seems so strung up on her. Even though he's more annoyed about the fact that she's treating him badly after everything they've been through. It's two sides of a story. As opposed to hearing just the one side of a bad relationship ending. |

Listening to it I was reminded of how in the bible the disciples were in a storm and they all thought that they were going to die. They were on the water in a boat and then Jesus came out onto the water and he was about to pass the boat but they called out to him when they saw him and Jesus turned around and calmed the storm. And then Peter wanted to walk on water too, so he asked Jesus if he could. And Jesus told Peter to step out of the boat and for a moment Peter walked on water too. But then Peter began to sink because he did not believe that it was possible for him to be doing such a thing, so Jesus reached out and grabbed him before he sank. To me, this song is a depiction of that. And that if we have faith in God we can be safe in the storm. |
