Fat Mike's obsession with sex and kink are well documented in NOFX lyrics. Suicide and overdose are also recurrent themes in their sadder songs, likely because he was surrounded by those things in his younger years. All of these are present here which makes me feel like this could even be autobiographical and he knew this woman personally. |

My mind was on the same track as dotdotdot's about this song. I guess I'm always naturally inclined to find an environmental/political message in a song with phrases like "hurry mighty ocean rising fast" and "storm a-coming, monster coming" but I'd have to say that before reading everyone else's comments about science fiction I would whole-heartedly agree. Now I'm not so sure but songs can mean whatever you want them to anyway... |

Oh my, how I love this song!
I'm pretty sure it's about combining ketamine abuse and its use as a horse tranquiliser, with the ego and vanity of humankind, or the show horses of humankind, anyway. Comparing humans to horses.

FARIS: "This is about a collection I used to have. You always see abandoned gloves on the pavement and I used to collect them, label them with the location and time that I found them and put them in plastic bags. I'm sure that some of them had fleas. But I'd imagine stories of who they belonged to. In the end I threw them away because they started to freak me out."
