Hmm...I love this song, first of all. When I heard it, just hearing it cold without knowing anything about the band, it reminded me of someone in the US military, especially considering personal events. "I get to go home in one week But Im leaving home in three weeks They throw me a bone just to pick me dry" Would be like brief leaves of absences that are granted. "im told what to do and i dont know why" "im ready to live with my family im ready to die in obscurity" A lot of young men join to be a part of history, to have made a difference, and he doesn't care about being a hero anymore. I don't know...it just seemed like a perfect analogy to me. |
