oh my gosh! i remember when i was 16, they came up to me and my friend at a mall in des moines, and we listened to this cd, and bought it for ten bucks! now i'm almost 20, and i still love them. and i remember sitting in my room and deciphering the whole cd. okay cool but what does this song MEAN? this is songmeanings. i don't understand this song. obviously he's saying there are a lot of the problems in the world, but is he saying to himself that he can't fix it, or is he saying it to other people...? like is he saying there are a lot of problems, but i have my own to fix first...? cuz if he is, i think it's weird to sing a song about that. it's kind of selfish. no offense i love this band, but i really don't understand this song. a little help here. |

sooo in the second verse it really sounds like it says:
"celebrate, infatuate...." not "that you made". i cant' really tell cuz it doesn't show his mouth during that part in the video. but it def sounds like that. |

well, we all know what happened today at virginia tech, and whenever I hear about shootings, this song always reverberates in the back of my head. It is of course simultaneous with emma hugging toby on degrassi after their school shooting. To me the song is just sad. i dont' know if anyone has said this yet but the whole "the road outside my house is paved with good intentions, hired a construction crew, cause it's hell on the engine" part is talking about all the temptations out there today and how he can't find the right way (the road outside his house), and he couldn't deal with them, so the "construction crew" is a therapist or therapists and the engine is obviously his head/brain/body. that's how i took it, and it is probably one of the best lines ever. ps - i heart patrick! and his sexy voice. |

i can't believe no one has said anything about this song. it's pretty amazing. the passion and emotion in her voice are breath taking. as for the meaning, i'm not sure. in my opinion, i think it's about someone trying to change and find something better about her life, but is having a difficult time, and she's wanting others to help her or she's comparing herself to someone else in her changes. but these lyrics are different then the song i have...so yeah! |
