i reckon its just basicaly a thankyou note to one of his friends who has always been there for him throughout the tough times in his life. whenever he needed help with stuff, drugs relationships and everythign else he was always there for him. all the song except for one line points to that for me at least. 'Your the best friend Who's killing me It's killing me...' thats the only part im sure of, maybe the friend is one thats getting him into these postions as well as helping get out of them. |

| Smile Empty Soul – Morning Light Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| it seems to me that he has lost someone and is having trouble moving on and wants to get em back. he knows that he needs to move on and is trying really hard to do that, 'Drag myself through the dirt again' but he is still having trouble letting go. 'Dwelling on the mistakes I've made'. 'Try to stay as clean as possible. The dirt just won't come off' makes me think that he has become almost obsessive compulsive to distract himself from the pain of losing them. but i think the previous entry was pretty good with saying that each day brings about new hope and such but by the end he is bak to his usual self and wanting to fix things between him and the one he lost. | |
| Staind – How About You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
this song seems like a conversation bewteen aaron and somebody who has inherited the success of someone thier parents, such as a large business or something. and with the power of the business they are making poor decisions that are making life hard for others. even worse they are acting so poorly that aaron doesnt know if they would help the people who first helped them or claim they didnt even know about it. the chorus makes it seem as though they r beginning that its hard to get what they want and aaron is telling them that they r lucky to have wat they do as some people work lots harder than them and dont get half as much back. so basically aaron just got sick of them complaining and decided to finally tell them about wat they r doing. |

| Staind – Sober (Tool cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

i would have to say that Aaron Lewis sang this much better then the tool version. i am not a tool fan though, and i am a huge staind fan so i could be biased, but i just think that he saig it with more deseration in his voice. in the tool version when the muis picked up volume and pace, the singer didnt and he kind of got drowned out a little. the accoustic also changes that a bit because it never gets heavier and more volume really. but as for a cover song being better than an original, i would have to say its easily possible as we are not talkin about the people playing the song. i know that they copied the lyrics and music, but unless all the band does is make cover songs then the band is still good. but the song can still be better to listen to then the original which would make it a better song. i still have to say that staind did a better version in the accoustic version, i havent heard the other version yet. but as i said, the singing in the tool version let it down. |
