i think this song is one of those songs were the meaning is just RIGHT THERE> i think it means that a guy used to love this girl but he thought she didnt like him. so he went out with another girl. then,who knows how later(a year or two), the guy and the second girl are still together and the first girl finally tells him she has loved him all along. but he sorta wants her back "Can't help but entertain this thought Thoughts of us together". |

I think that she still loves a guy but things aren't going very well. "Please don't listen to what I'm gonna tell you Look in my eyes and know I simply had to give up But I didn't let go without struggle you know, I still love you It's just, just one of those things" That probably means that she just doesn't want to actually SAY that it's over. She just wants him to understand it's over. She wants him to know that she had to give up because he doesn't treat her well or something like that. She wants him to know she tried to keep their relationship together but she needed to let go. She still loves him,though. Okay,I also think the mom was raped,not once but more times. Let's say the mom got raped and the girl was born. The girl is singing about what she remembers about when she was younger. Her mom was repeatedly raped by her live-in boyfriend or live-in fiancee(the girl came from another man). She remembers her mom screaming so she covers her ears with the pillow(“Murder ears with pillow lace”). But where do the “tiny fists” come from?Let's say the girl has a baby brother also a rape child. Maybe the girl is about six and she remembers holding the baby and he's moving his fists. The glass child part means she's sensitive. The Hannah's regrets part probably means she came from a DATE rape.
